ICD Brookfield Place Announces Tasmeem 2025 Open Call For Submission

ICD Brookfield Place announces open call for submission for the fourth edition of annual graphic design and poster show Tasmeem, themed Graphic Dissent. Led by ICD Brookfield Place Arts program, Tasmeem is set to take place in June 2025, and will be open to submissions until 23 May 2025 from design practitioners, thinkers, type designers, and students throughout the region.

This year’s exhibition will showcase selected works under the theme: Graphic Dissent, conceptualised by Lebanese Graphic Designer and Printmaker Farah Fayyad.

Graphic Dissent is rooted in the belief that visual language can mobilize, disrupt, and inspire. The 2025 edition of Tasmeem calls on designers to step into this legacy — to recognize design not as ornament, but as a force that has long accompanied struggles for justice, visibility, equality, and liberation.

This invitation is open to a wide spectrum of causes and convictions — from environmental urgencies, to human rights, gender equity, collective memory, and education. We welcome works that respond to systems of injustice, but also those that uplift, reimagine, and affirm. Social change can take many forms — defiance, care, bearing witness, community, awareness — submissions can reflect any or all of these.

Designers are asked to respond to unfolding histories with urgency and care, recognizing that this moment is part of a deeper lineage: a visual archive of artists and designers who have used their tools to amplify what affects them, communicate the need for change, resist erasure, remember differently, and to imagine how a poster can carry meaning across borders and time, sometimes boldly, sometimes quietly.

How can the work illuminate, question, or reimagine?

How can it create openings where words might otherwise be constrained?

This exhibition will look toward design not as a solution, but as an offering: a way to witness, to hold, and to make visible what must not be forgotten.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Must include original work
  • Dimensions: 61:91 aspect ratio
  • Resolution: 300 dpi
  • CYMK
  • Accepted formats: PDF, JPEG, TIFF
  • Limit of one submission per person
