Ovid Guzmán López, one of the four children of the infamous Sexican Crime Lord known as El Chapo, plans to declare himself guilty this summer of federal drug charges, according to the courts presented in Tesday.
If the plea passes as planned on July 9 in Chicago, Mr. Guzmán López would become the first of El Chapo’s children, who know collectively as the Chapitos, to recognize the guild in a federal court in the United States.
Jeffrey Lichtman, Mr. Guzmán López’s lawyer, said his client had not yet reached a final guilt agreement with the government, but hoped to have one in place in the coming months.
Mr. Guzmán López is perhaps better known for causing a bloody battle between armed men for the Sinaloa Drug Poster and the Mexican Army in October 2019 in the city of Culiacán, which has the urban strength of Long.
In an exhibition of brutal aggression, the poster agents humiliated Mexican officials by forcing the government to free Mr. Guzmán López shortly after being captured.
He was arrested again in Mexico in January 2023 and extradited that September to face drug positions in a federal court in Chicago. He was appointed in an expanding accusation with his full brother, Joaquín Guzmán López; His two media brothers, archivist Iván Guzmán Salazar and Jesús Alfredo Guzmán Salazar; and his father’s former business partner, Ismael Zambada García.
In a story that seemed to have been torn from a narco thriller, Joaquín Guzmán López kidnapped Mr. Zambada García in Culiacán last summer and flew him on the border with the custody of the federal agents of the United States.
Joaquín Guzmán López also has negotiations with federal authorities in Chicago to reach his own guilt agreement.

The case against Mr. Guzmán López in Chicago was based on the work of the researchers of that city, Washington and San Diego, who incorporated a fixed treasure of evidence of cooperating witnesses. He took to the sale of drugs and the violent crimes that reached 2008.
The accusation in Chicago accused Ovid Guzmán López or acted as a “logistics coordinator” for the poster, helping to supervise large shipments of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana in the United States. The accusation also said that it helped the drug processes of US consumers to be transferred and washed in Mexico.
