Tamil Nadu IT exports from ELCOT SEZ’s surge 21% y-o-y in FY25

The information technology of Tamil Nadu (TI) attends to exports from the Electronic Corporation of Special Economic Zones of Tamil Nadu (Elcot Sezs) stood at ₹ 33,268 million rupees in fiscal year 2000, a growth of 21 percent interannual.

Thecot has established 8 ZEE in Chennai and in all cities of level 2 with a total range or 1,185 acres, according to the note of the policy of the Department of Digital Services and IT by 2025-26. Speaking in the Assembly, the Minister of State for Information Technology and Digital Services Palanivel ThiaGarajan, said that the State is working to carry the ‘E-Sevai’ and other citizen services through the WhatsApp mode. “Instead of simply going through a website, citizens can send messages about WhatsApp and Access Services,” he said.

According to the policy note, the axis or March 31, 2025, there are 34,843 E-Sevai centers operating in Tamil Nadu. 1,09,66,215 E-SEVAI transactions have been made through the portal in fiscal year 2015.

In addition, the policy note stressed that with the objective of making Tamil Nadu an economy of knowledge led by innovation, the Cot is in the process of renewing and updating the Tamil Nadu 2018 Information and Communication Technology Policy.

Thecot has already established 266 PEC (permanent registration centers) throughout the State to provide services related to AADHAR. Minister Thiagarajan said the State plans to add 50 more centers of this type.
