Tamil Nadu electronics exports grow by 53% y-o-y at $14.6 billion in FY25

Tamil Nadu has registered its highest electronics exports or $ 14.65 billion in fiscal year 2015, 53 percent more interannual. With this, the State retains its first place in electronic exports with a participation of 41.2 percent of total electronic exports of India. This part was 32.8 percent in fiscal year 2000.

Karnataka ($ 7.8 billion), Uttar Pradesh ($ 5.2 billion), Maharashtra ($ 3.5 billion) and Gujarat ($ 1.8 billion) are the other main states in electronic exports (in that order). Although these states also occupied the first points in the fiscal year24, the southern states -TN and Karnataka, their participation in the 2015 fiscal year has grown, while Maharashtra and Gujarat have seen a decrease in their part of exports.

“This is great news for Tamil Nadu and his highly talented workforce, but we will not rest in our laurels,” said Industrial Minister Tamil Nadu, Trb Rajaa.

The EMS sector of the State has recovered from an era when the Global Nokia giant had to close stores, leaving its factories vacant in the Srperumbudur belt. TN now does not work several leading electronics manufacturers, including Foxconn, Sanmina, Flex, Tata Electronics and others.

Industry sources say that although Apple is one of the greatest taxpayers to this, state strengths in automotive electronics are helping to lead. The increase in demand for telecommunications and network equipment, such as those made by Nokia in Srperumbudur, has also helped increase exports. In addition, recent investments of players such as Dixon Technologies to make laptops further increase their exports, EMS executives said executives.
