Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) has violated the provisions of the Telecommunications Law, 2023 granting Monday the display of telecommunications infrastructure to an IP-I supplier of third-party IP-I, said Telco on Monday).

Affirm that Coai firmly opposes the “illegal model and anticonsumer“ Adopted by the MMRCL to provision the telecommunications infrastructure on Metro line 3 (Colaba-Bandra-Aarey Corridor), the industry agency issued a statement that says: “According to the current framework of telecommunications licenses, IP-I suppliers are prohibited by implement Authorized and are equipped to implement mobile networks independently.

Previously, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea (VI) and Reliance Jio had jointly proposed to install a common construction solution (SII) network in the Metro corridor. However, the plans reached a routine since the telecommunications companies said that the selected MMRCL Aces partner sacrificed “unfeasible rates” to telecommunications companies.

“MMRC arbitrarily rejected its application for Passing Law (Row) permits, citing the selection of a supplier through its internal bidding process. This decision prioritizes commercial profits on the Public Convenience Law, 20233 Non -discriminatory access to the public infrastructure for license TSP,” COAI said.

In addition, he called the MMRCL selection of a model driven by the supplier as an anti -competitive practice, to extract unjustified commercial returns.

The previous news reports had said that Airtel and VI had agreed to a joint deployment of SII according to the mandate of MMRCL. However, Coai described the wrong claims and said: “No TSP or Coai member has signed any agreement with the MMRC provider.” As such, he asked MMRCL to immediately reconsider his current position.
