Cholamandalam’s annual disbursements cross ₹1 lakh cr in FY25, to enter gold loan business

Cholandalam Investment & Finance has seen its total annual disbursements overcome the ₹ 1 Lakh Crore in fiscal year 2015, with more than half contributed with vehicle finances. However, the disbursement rate was moderated 14 percent in fiscal year 2015 compared to 33 percent in fiscal year 2014.

The Murugappa NBFC group also announced on Friday that it will launch its gold loan business in selected geographies. For its proposed entrance, the company is expected to capitalize its extensive network of branches in rural and semi -urban India.

Total disbursements for FY25 were ₹ 1.00,869 million rupees, compared to ₹ 88.725 million rupees in FY24, record a growth or 14 percent. In Q4 or Fy25, disbursements grew by 7 percent, reaching ₹ 26,417 million rupees (₹ 24,784 million rupees).

The company reported a net income of ₹ 13,570 million rupees in fiscal year 2015, 36 percent more, while net earnings grew 24 percent, reaching ₹ 4,259 million rupees. For the quarter of March 2025, the company registered a net gain of ₹ 1,267 million rupees, compared to ₹ 1,058 million rupees in the quarter of the previous year, an increase or 20 percent. The net income stood at ₹ 3,758 million rupees (₹ 2,913 million rupees).

For fiscal year 2015, the company’s total income increased by 36 percent to ₹ 26,055 million rupees (₹ 19,216 million rupees). Loan losses were higher in ₹ 2,494 million rupees (₹ 1,322 million rupees). The profits before the taxes were at ₹ 5,737 million rupees (₹ 4,582 million rupees).

The Board has recommended a final dividend of ₹ 0.70 per share (35 percent) in the capital’s capital shares. This adds to the provisional dividend of ₹ 1.30 per share (65 percent) above for fiscal year 2015.

Vehicle, loan segments

The company’s financing segment of the company registered a 12 percent increase in disbursements, increasing to ₹ 53,922 million rupees in the 2015 fiscal year of ₹ 48,348 million rupees in fiscal year 2014. The loan against the property business also grew by 32%, and the disbursements increased from ₹ 13.554 million rupees to ₹ 17,913 million rupees.

Meanwhile, the mortgage loan segment reported a 16 percent increase in disbursements. In the loan business of small and medium enterprises (SME), the disbursements decreased to ₹ 7,763 million rupees. In Q4Fy25, disbursements also decreased to ₹ 1,733 million rupees (₹ 2,136 million rupees). “The fall of disbursements in this segment is due to the conscious decision to reduce the speed in low rotation products, such as the financing of the supply chain,” the statement said.

The segment of consumption loans and small businesses (CSEL) reported a drop in disbursements to ₹ 2,328 million rupees in Q4Fy25 (₹ 3,301 million rupees), while Fy25 disbursements increased by 11 percent. “The fall of disbursements in CSEL in the fourth quarter is due to the conscious decision to progressively leave the volumes led by the Fintech association,” he added.

Gross assets non -yields of the company (NPA) stood at 3.91 percent as or March 31, 2025, compared to 3.54 percent or March 31, 2024. The net NPA also increased from 2.32 percent to 2.63 percent. Subs under administration grew by 30 percent, reaching ₹ 1,99,876 million rupees of March 31, 2025.
