THE WHAT? L’Oréal Groupe has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Medik8, a UK-based premium skincare brand known for its science-led formulations and professional heritage.

THE DETAILS Founded by Elliot Isaacs, Medik8 is widely recognized for its Vitamin C, Sunscreen, and Vitamin A-based regimen and its Crystal Retinal serum. The brand operates across both professional and retail channels in Europe, with growing distribution in the United States. Inflexion will retain a minority share, and the current leadership, including the founder, will remain in place post-acquisition.

Medik8 will join L’Oréal’s Luxe division, which has increasingly focused on expanding its presence in high-efficacy, science-backed skincare. The transaction includes provisions for L’Oréal to acquire full ownership in the future. Completion is pending regulatory approval.

THE WHY?  The move reflects L’Oréal’s continued strategy to acquire performance-driven skincare brands with established credibility and global expansion potential. Medik8 adds to L’Oréal’s growing portfolio of ingredient-led offerings, allowing the group to strengthen its positioning in the dermocosmetic and prestige skincare segments at a time when consumer demand for clinically backed products remains high.
