The Jacksonville Jaguars exchanged three places to select the winner of the Heisman Trophy/Bidirectional Star of Colorado Travis Hunter with selection No. 2 in the NFL draft Thursday night.
The Jaguars gave four selections, including the second and fourth round this year, and their first round 2026 to achieve one of the most intriguing perspectives of the NFL in the history of the Draft and establish the tone for a new regime that presents the executive vice president of Jacest-Tist of Gace-Tist, Tony Boselli.
Now, they have the first two -way player in the franchise’s tradition.
The Jags also received a fourth round and a sixth round in exchange for the Browns.
Hunter will join the field marshal of the Trevor Lawrence franchise and the Pro Bowl Brian Thomas Jr. receiver to create the Coen offensive nucleus, and perhaps also his defense.
Hunter told NFL teams to plan to play both sides of the ball as a professional. The Jaguars imagine him mainly as a receiver, he will start in front of Thomas and should give Lawrence another dynamic games creator, but plan to have defensive packages for him.
Deion Sanders, who played defensive and the duration of the receiver of his career in the Hall of Fame of Professional Soccer, trained Hunter in Jackson State and Colorado and had no qualms about playing it in both ways.
Sanders allowed Hunter to take several days off after the games to recover, a luxury that is unlikely to have as a rookie.
Last season, Hunter caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns and 35 cups, 11 breaks of passes, eight incomplete forced and four interceptions while allowing a touchdown.
Gladstone, Coen and Boselli wanted to take a dip with their best selection. After a week of speculation about staying at number 5 and selecting the Boise State Boise Ashton Jeanty corridor, they made a much bolder movement.
Now, it depends on Trio to make the most of the hunter.
