In the last four years, almost 70 million rupees have been invested in 205 new companies of various funds from Tamil Nadu’s business development programs, MSME Minister of the State said Thursday. “Others ₹ 20 million rupees are assigned for new companies in the current fiscal year,” he added. Startuptn already has 10 regional centers in Chennai, Madurai, Erode, Tirunelveli, Salem, Hosur, Thanjavur, Tuchy, Coimbatore, Villupuram. A new regional center will appear in Thothukudi this fiscal year with an approach to space technology, new companies and logistics, said the minister. He also caught the attention to the newly announced scheme of the Ministry around “a new company in each town.” Under this, the state is ready to select 100 villages and nourish a new company in each village, he said.
Multisectoral approach
“The State’s attached CM will launch the logo and website of the next World Start -on -State Summit on Friday,” said the minister.
Speaking before at the event, Atul Anand, additional principal secretary, department of Mipyme, Tamil Nadu, said that the growth of Tamil Nadu’s new company reflects the state’s potential. The performance of the State has been multifaceted with experience in software services, medical tourism sector, new agricultural companies, landslides, AI and deep technology, he added. “One of the reasons [for Tamil Nadu’s success] It is our multisectoral approach. It is a rich mixture that will make Tamil Nadu the center of the starting ecosystem, “he said.
The summit saw the participation of various stakeholders such as government, industry, academia and the starting ecosystem. The speakers included Ar Unnikrishnan, President, Cii Tamil Nadu State Council and managing director, Saint-Gobain India Private Ltd (Glass Group); C Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, Institute of Science and Technology SRM, and Sivarajah Ramanathan, Mission Director and Executive Director, Mission of Innovation and Innovation of Tamil Nadu, among others.
