Two-Time State Diving Champ Dead at 18 After Car Crash

Maisey O’Donnell, a 18 -year -old state diving champion of Massachusetts, was killed along with two or his friends in a car accident in Florida on spring holidays.

The accident occurred on Monday night near the city of Panama, Florida, when the SUV that took O’Donnell and his friends hit a tractor trailer that was making a U turning in the median of the 98 highway.

The impact was so devastating that the SUV was completely shot down and ended in the nearby forest.

O’Donnell was transported to the hospital but could not be saved. Four teenagers were in the SUV, all the students of Concord-Carlisle High School. O’Donnell, along with driver Jimmy Mcintosh and passenger Hannah Wasserman, were killed; A fourth unidentified student remains hospitalized. The 19 -year -old tractor tractor driver was not injured in the accident.

“It’s a tragedy,” said Boston’s diving coach Joe Chirico.

“The young children admired her; the other diverse admired her. It is a tragedy that someone at the top of her game, going to the best academic school, one of the best diverse of the nation, was so short.”

Tributes to O’Donnell have published Bone on social networks.

A former teammate wrote: “I don’t know what to say. I am very grateful to have been your best friend,” said Instagram’s publication. “When we spared on Saturday, I knew that this would be the last time I loosen up … You had such a brilliant future ahead of you. You were the most intelligent funny girl I have.”

O’Donnell had planned to attend Williams College in autumn.

Florida’s road patrol said the accident remains under investigation.
