Leonardo DiCaprio honors Pope Francis after his death at 88, reflects on their ‘deeply moving’ meeting

Leonardo DiCaprio has paid a sincere tribute to Pope Francis after the death of the Pontiff at age 88.

The winner of the 50 -year -old Oscar, tok social networks on Monday to give his respect for sharing a series of photos of his 2016 meeting at the Vatican.

The actor “Inception” reminded the couple discussing the urgency of climate change for their documentary “Before the Flood”, which was launched later that year.

“Pope Francis was a transformative leader, not only for the Catholic Church, but also for environmental reform and activism,” wrote the actor on Instagram.

“He demonstrated a deep and unwavering commitment to environmental administration, especially through his innovative encyclical laudato if”, “DiCaprio Wreote, referring to a letter that his holiness had in 2015.

“This powerful document served as a call from Clarón for a fundamental change in the way we interact with the planet,” added the actor, who has taken a lawyer transmitted by environmental issues.

The actor “Wolf of Wall Street” described Pope Francis “one of the most extraordinary spiritual leaders of our time.”

DiCaprio has long been an environmentalist, establishing the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation in 1998 with only 24 years.

It comes as the former Hollywood collaborator of the actor, filmmaker Martin Scorsese, also paid tribute to the late Pope.
