Indian farmers bought record 655.94 lakh tonnes fertilizers in FY25

Imports

The importation of general fertilizers also fell 9.7 percent to 152.22 Lt from 168.49 LT, in which DAP dropped 17.1 percent to 45.69 LT of 55.14 LT. But, the import of MOP increased by 29.8 percent to 27.34 LT of 21.06 LT and the complex rose 3.9 percent to 22.72 LT of 21.87 LT.

The production of all fertilizers increased by 2.9 percent to 517.83 LT in fiscal year 200 7.76 LT (6.38 LT).

Against 120 LT of SSP capacity installed in 101 units, the production has not risen and is around 50-55 LT per year in recent years, which the industry attributed to the low preference by farmers with respect to the DAP.
