The New York Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Konstantin Vasyukevich, shares his philosophy behind the “invisible facial stretching” and discusses the configuration of modern facial rejuvenation surgery.

Practice of plastic surgery: its approach has described as an “invisible facial stretch.” What does that term mean for you and how do you reflect your goals when the performance rejuvenation surgery?
Konstantin Vasyukevich, MD: An “invisible facial stretch” means that the results are not announced as surgery. The patient seems renewed and rested, but not thrown or altered. My goal is to restore what has changed over time, not change the appearance of some. The best results are what people notice without knowing exactly why.
PSP: We are seeing a notable trend of younger patients, those in about 30 and 40, see surgical interventions. What do you think is to boost this change and how is it influencing your surgical planning?
Vasyukevich: Younger patients are more proactive. They are noticing early changes in photos, video calls or mirror; and I would prefer to address them now than to wait. Many have tried non -surgical treatments, but the results have found the disappointing or short life results, so they are returning to surgery for something more natural and lasting. My approach becomes less about correction and more about preservation. The procedures are less extensive, subtle but effective, with the same objective in mind: long -term and natural aspect improvement.
PSP: deep -plated face washing has seen a resurgence in recent years. How do this technique align with its philosophy or achievement of natural and undetectable results?
Vasyukevich: The deep plane technique allows me to reposition the deepest facial structures for a more comprehensive rejuvenation and natural appearance. When working under the surface, we can restore youth contours without creating tension or altering the expression. It offers excellent longevity and retains facial harmony. When it ends, it does not seem surgical, it simply seems like a more renewed version of the patient.
PSP: How do you advise patients who want a visible improvement but are concerned about stigma or fear of seeing “fact”? What role does patient education play by establishing realistic expectations?
Vasyukevich: This is one of the most common groups. I always tell patients: the best facial stretching are not obvious. I show you examples, I explain how surgery works and talk about the difference between a natural face wash and one that seems altered. Once they understand that good surgery improves their natural characteristics, it does not change them, they are usually more comfortable. Education is everything when it comes to establishing expectations and building trust.
PSP: From a technical point of view, what are the key elements that allow you to maintain facial expression and character while giving rejuvenation?
Vasyukevich: Instead of adjusting or stretching the tissue, the approach is to release it and reposition it carefully. The objective is not to lift as much as possible, it is to restore the tissue to its natural and more youthful position.
PSP: As the continuous facial aesthetics evolve, what trends do you see emerging in terms of patient preferences and surgical innovation, and how their peers should prepare to meet this demand?
Vasyukevich: Patients are increasingly informed and selective. They are looking for natural and long -lasting results and are more open to surgery when sacrificing a clear solution. I think we will continue to see a change of sides overloaded towards structural and integral approaches such as deep plane facial stretching, fat graft and treatments that improve skin texture. As surgeons, we have to continue refining our techniques and stay focused on results that feel authentic for the patient. PSP
