The Russian president indicates a ‘positive’ perspective about bilateral peace conversations after Ukraine proposes a high fire.

The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, has indicated that he is open to the perspective of direct conversations with Ukraine.

Putin told Russian State TV on Monday that he had a “positive attitude towards any peace initiative” and that he expected kyiv “to sit in the same way.”

Moscow and Kyiv have had no bilateral conversations since the immediate consequences of Russia’s invasion in February 2022. However, the United States has been increasing the pressure on the subject to accept a high fire.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin’s comments, after the expiration of a 30 -hour Easter truce, which each side accused the other of rape, was open to direct conversations.

“When the president said it was possible to discuss the issue of not attacking civil objectives, including bilaterally, the president had in mind negotiations and discussions with the Ukrainian side,” said Peskov, cited by the interface of Russia.

While Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zenskyy did not respond directly to Putin’s proposal, he said in his night video direction that Ukraine was “ready for any conversation” on a high fire that would stop attacks against civilians.

Now, after Easter, everyone can clearly see the real problem: the true reason why hostilities continue. Russia is the source of this war. It is from Moscow that a real order must come so that the Russian army ceases the fire. And if there is no such firm Russian order for … pic.twitter.com/js9Ctirqd

On Sunday, Zenskyy had proposed a tracking of the truce that “would stop strikes with long -range drones and missiles in civil infrastructure for a period of at least 30 days.”

Putin said Russia “Analysis everything and would make the corresponding decisions”, but questioned how it would work, since he accused Ucrine of using civil buildings as restaurants and universities for military purposes.

Zenskyy pressed Putin more on Monday, saying that Ukraine supported his sacrifice: “At least, not to attack civil infrastructure”, and that expected a “clear response” from Moscow.

The possibility of direct conversations occurs after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, threatened to move away from the efforts to negotiate a stop the fire unless progressing. At the same time, he continued on Monday to express the hope that an agreement will be close and that this week can be reached.

The negotiators of the United States, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and France will meet in London on Wednesday for another round of conversations about the end of the war, Zenskyy said.

Discussions are a similar meeting in Paris last week.

Amid the impulse of an end of the fight, in which Trump seems ready to accept many of Moscow’s demands and profits, Russia is anxious to press his military advantage on the battlefield.

The Ukraine Air Force reported another night flood on Tuesday, with Russia launching 54 drones.

Meanwhile, the Russian media said the military had resumed the monastery of Gornal St Nicholas Belogorsky, one of the last positions of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region.
