According to Erin Napier, her newest book, “Heirloom Rooms,” “celebrates what our homes are really like.”

In her new book, HGTV star Erin Napier lifts the veil on her own house in Laurel, Mississippi, as well as the homes of her friends, family, and clients from her popular show “Home Town.”

A book of essays and photographs titled “Heirloom Rooms: Soulful Stories of Home,” according to a mother of two, is a celebration of the ordinary and commonplace homes that make up a cherished home.

“I sincerely hope people buy this book. It’s different,” Napier said, calling the book a “nightstand book” as opposed to a coffee table book.

No matter how stunning it was or who created it, I noticed that whenever I came across this flawlessly arranged, vacant interior on social media, I was skimming through images very quickly. I was merely unconcerned. Erin Napier’s inspiration for writing the book was to “create a book that celebrates what our houses are really like when we live in them,” she stated.

“Our houses don’t have to look like they’re in a magazine to be loved and to be wonderful,” she continued.

As its name suggests, “Heirloom Rooms” highlights commonplace yet significant objects that have a specific place in a person’s house. A priceless biscuit bowl that belonged to Erin Napier’s grandmother is one of the family’s possessions today.

She would use this to prepare buttermilk biscuits. I learned how to make them from her. The only person in my family who can cook them in the same manner as she did is me, Erin Napier said. “I had to have this when she died away. I get the impression that those we love are always nearby because of this.

Tuesday marks the release of “Heirloom Rooms” by Gallery Books.
