Indian Sugarcane Research Institute and Zuari Industries PVT LTD sign a memorandum of understanding for the implementation of a “program of excellence in cane”.
The ICAR -isri (Indian Sugarcane Research Institute), Lucknow, and Zuari Industries Pvt Ltd (Zil) have signed a memorandum of understanding (Mou) to establish a collaborative frame between Zil and ISRI for the implementation of A. The program aims to improve the productivity of sugarcane, sustainability, participation of farmers and the integration of research and development (R&D) for long -term strategic gains. The Mou was signed by R Viswanathan, director of Icar -isri, and executive director of Alok Saxena and head of the Zuari Industries Ltd unit, Gobind Sugar Mills, Aira.
According to the MOU, ICAR-ISRI will provide technical knowledge, best agronomic practices, R&D support in the evaluation of varieties present and develop new, nominate experts and scientists for training, joint activities and monitoring, share research and recommendations for services of specifications or consulting support in terms and structures of mutually agreed costs.
Development backed by science
The Institute will also facilitate exposure visits, cross -learning platforms and dissemination of knowledge products such as technical manuals, videos and mobile notices. It will provide technical experience to integrate digital advice systems and decision support tools in the ‘Excellence Program in Cane’.
