India should push for revival of organic soybean exports to US: SEA

India should prioritize exports by reviving organic non -transgenic soybean food to soybeans and soy to negotiations of bilateral commercial agreement of the United States (BTA), said the Association of Solvent Excerpts from the body of the industry (Sea) on Monday.

India previously exported 150,000-200000 tons of organic soybeans not ogm to the US. Before the safeguarding tasks imposed after the opposition of national producers of the United States effectively suspended this trade, according to the sea.

“It is essential that the Ministry of Commerce carry out the rebirth of these exports as part of the ongoing discussions of BTA,” said the president of Sea, Sanjeev Asthana, in a statement.

The two countries are negotiating a bilateral commercial agreement that includes discussions on key agricultural products such as soybeans and corn.

Let it also raised concerns about non -standardized packaging or edible oils after regulatory changes in 2022, saying varied sizes of packages such as 800 grams, 810 grams and 850 grams of confusion of created consumption and price comparison difficulties.

The industry agency has urged the Ministry of Consumer Affairs to restore standardized packaging requirements for edible oils to improve transparency and consumer confidence.
